Dolphin Dive (est. 2005) is the only locally-owned dive shop on Little Corn
Island, the smaller of the two Corn Islands off Nicaragua's Caribbean coast.
The island is remote, though easily accessible.  Its shores are palm-fringed,
its surrounding waters turquoise blue.  Little Island, or La Islita, as it is
known locally, is every bit the picture postcard Caribbean island, but
without the cruise ships, jet skis, or package tourists typical of other island
destinations in the region.

For those who choose to venture here, they will find no roads or cars.  Main
Street is a paved footpath which runs for only a small part of the island's 1.5
mile length.  That being said, modern services, a variety of accommodations,
and a great selection of local and international cuisine are all within walking
distance.  Local islanders speak a mix of English, Spanish, and Creole.  New
arrivals quickly learn to adapt to "island time".  It is this relaxed
atmosphere, combined with the beautiful Caribbean landscape, that give
Little Corn its unique charm.

The island is surrounded on three sides by pristine coral reef and diverse
aquatic life, making it an ideal destination for scuba divers of all levels of
experience.  Dive sites abound both inside and beyond the reefs: picture
yourself almost nudging up against a bottom-dwelling nurse shark... you
catch something out of the corner of your eye and looking up just in time, you
see a pair of spotted eagle rays glide effortlessly over the coral... distracted
again, you let your eyes wander between the hovering pack of barracuda, to
a meandering crowd of parrotfish and down to the multicolored coral
backdrop below. Welcome to a day on Little Corn's reef...

A Day of Diving, anyone?

We generally meet at the shop at 8:30 to size and select equipment, if you
haven't brought your own (we have brand new Mares BCDs, Sea Elite
regulators, and 3mm "shorty" wetsuits).  Our spacious, custom-built dive
boat , the Miss Aura II, departs by 9:00 to one of the more than twenty
great dive sites around the island.  The morning dives are usually two-tank
dives, with the surface interval being spent on a quiet beach sipping sweet
water from a fresh coconut.  You can expect to be back at the shop by 1:00
pm.

Afternoon divers meet at the shop at 1:30 for a one-tank dive, though two
are sometimes possible, daylight permitting.  We do offer night diving  as
well for those eager to see the reef after dark!

At Dolphin Dive, your enjoyment and safety are our primary concern.  All
guided dives and snorkeling tours are led by PADI Instructors or
Divemasters.  Our boat captain has been navigating the island's waters for
over a decade.  Follow this link to meet our friendly
